November MeetUp - Finally!

Finally - we are ready for our first meet-up. The Minnesota Web Design Meet-up is a forum and an avenue to spread ideas about merging the business and technical side of web design.

Thanks to everyone for joining in our Poll - It took me a while, but I found a company that will do a great job addressing the two most popular answers to the posed question of, "what do you want to get out of this meet-up."

The top two answers:
1) building a community of developers, designers, writers, and partners and
2) Finding a new CMS System that is completely supported.

Please join us for an afternoon and early evening of casual networking and an informal ongoing demonstration. Throughout the 3 hour event (4-7) Gene Schreder and Eric Brown from Smart Site will be on hand to talk about and demonstrate a new cutting edge content management system and developer network called Live Edit.

Grumpy's (Roseville) is hosting the event so RSVP if you can make it - AND show up if you RSVP. I look forward to meeting you at the event.

Don't be disappointed. You had a terrific turnout. Thank you for your commitment to this group, seems it's paid off. I'm actually glad it was smaller, I got a chance to really connect with the group.

This was refreshing. Other groups have some ego on who is more technical. Seriously, it's about developing for your client. Some require more technology, and some require less.

I'm anxious to see how this develops, plan on being active in this group!!

I was a little disappointed that only 14 out of 375 members showed up - but those that showed up were sharp, like minded, and amazing individuals. Thanks again to all who showed up - it was truly nice to meet you and I can safely say I made some friends. Thanks to Eric and Gene from Smart Site. Thanks to our Sponsors Blackberry and Trend Micro. We'll look to have another meet-up in early 2010.

I thought the meet-up was fine. I will say it was a little hard to hear people and the presentation, but overall it was fine. I know how hard it is to organize things like this so thank you for doing it.
