A passionate IT strategist with 20+ years background in IT of which 10+ years in delivering large, complex web applications and web portals for Fortune 500 organizations. Now, a technology startup focusing on building a platform for a better web!
We claim Minnesota to be the Silicon Valley of the Mid-West. There are many "leaders" and "politicians" who make very lofty claims and tout one or two successes here and there. But where is a real technology network here in Minnesota to foster the creativity and innovation similar to what comes out of the Silicon Valley? I agree that Minnesota has produced some good technology companies, but why is that their path to success has been so overly challenging? I have called Minnesota my home for 15 years, and I strongly believe that many more success stories can develop right here if we change our culture just a little - I mean, little less talk and lot more action! I am here doing my part, leading a movement at the grassroots level - turning a previously dead meetup group into a vibrant networking community, with hopes of seeing few notable success stories develop out of it in next year or two. This is my way of giving back to the community that has given me so much!
I am the founder, chief evengelist, architect and cheer leader for the bootstrapped technology startup AdaptivePortal.
20+ years in IT industry, with senior level technology portfolio management experience at Fortune 50 companies. In my career, I have managed, touched, programmed or implemented nearly 60% to 70% of all technology platforms/solutions under the sun. This obviously gives me a very different perspective and there is hardly any IT technology that can overwhelm me.

I can name many politicians in my favorite list of cartoon characters, but I would rather say ":-)" smiley is my favorite because I use it often in my communications.
Goal is very clear - transform this group into an engaged, vibrant community and become authority on All Things Web. There is a potential, but we need to figure out how to engage the larger community - 20 out of 400 members came today. Great start, but how do we turn this into 20% to 25% of group members attending instead of 5%? I don't have an answer but we will figure it out as we move forward :-)
